New Year's Resolutions ...

So, remember when I randomly threw in a post that I was starting with a trainer the other day?  And that I'd tell you more about that soon?  Well, as I'm off to my 2nd week with my trainer today (Coach Oscar) I thought I'd go ahead and fill y'all in now!

So my New Year's resolution promise, like I'm sure is every other person's that's not naturally a size 0 and have no problem with turning down holiday food or every other momma's that just popped out a kiddo and didn't walk out of the hospital in her skinny jeans and actually WAS "all belly", is to lose weight.  The baby weight that is.  And then some.  You see when I got preggo I was about 15 to 20 lbs heavier than I would've liked to have been.  However I made the decision that it didn't make any sense to kill myself to get the weight off only to gain it back with pregnancy and vowed that I would do it after baby got here.  Well baby's here.  And it's time.  I'm over what looks like the other baby that's still taking up residence in my belly.  It's time for it to leave, skedaddle, hit the road Jack (and seriously, dontcha come back NO more!).  So I've gone and got myself a trainer.  And have also decided to stop eating like I'm pregnant (contrary to the fact that I may still look it) because I'm not.  And I'm ready to be able to fit in my clothes again and not be floating in between my maternity and my "fat clothes".

So I meet with Coach Oscar on Tues/Thurs and he proceeds to KICK MY ARSE into next week.  Then, I try and learn to walk again the deal that I have with myself (don't worry I'll stick to it - there's Starbucks at stake) is that I have to work out 3 days on my own when I'm not working out with Oscar.  So last night I did a cardio dance video at home.  While Caleb was sleeping in his swing.  My son was snoozing and his momma was shakin' her groove thang.  It was actually quite fun and REALLY got up a good sweat!  However I am officially only coordinated after a glass of wine or two.  And that's only personal opinion (which may or may not be the opinion of the "wine or two").  But that's neither here nor there.

So what, you ask, is my goal?  Well I'll tell you.  It's 50 lbs.  Phew.  I said it.  EEK, that just sounds like SO much.  I've never tried to lose that much weight at once in my life.  And I'll admit, it seems quite menacing.  But I think, scratch that, I KNOW I can do it.  And that I'll feel great afterwards.  My goal is to lose 10 lbs a month.  I want to be bikini ready by this summer.  Luckily I have an awesome OB whos surgical skillz will allow me to do that (meaning she didn't butcher me and actually gave me a decent incision).  The rest is up to me.  I'll update y'all on my progress weekly.  So far, today is my first full week of eating right/working out.  And I've lost 2.5 lbs so far.  WOO HOO!  I still have a long way to go, but I'm all about the baby steps.  So I can go from this girl ...

back to this girl ...

{But I'm not sure who that guy is?  Oh it's the Mister.  The hair threw me off ...}

Sheez, I have a long way to go.  But I'm goin' and that's what's important!

But in the meantime let me give all you "just had babies" or "about to have babies" or "FEEL like I look like I just had a baby" ladies that are on your way to a new start as well a tip.  Two words.  Spanx. leggings.  Amazing.  They will change your life.  You can find them here.  You're welcome.

So what are your New Year's resolutions promises?  What are your plans for success?

  6. Good Luck!! May I suggest a lower carb diet. My husband did a modified atkins diet and lost 60 lbs. He started in July and by October was about 45 lbs lighter...and it wasn't full on atkins either, apparently there are phases?

    I dunno but there's a book called The New Atkins Diet that has great info. So if you're interested checkity check it.

    Best of luck on the healthier you!!
