Happy Halloween!

Seriously?  Is that not the coolest thing ever?  I know there are a kajillion versions of songs he's done both this year and years past but that one was one (ONE) of my favorites.  Especially the part where his kid runs out in the middle of the video.  Awesome.

Well, I hope y'all have a safe and fun evening running around after your little ones trick or treating.  I, for one, will be taking full advantage of the fact that mine #1 - is not even one years old yet and actually CANNOT have candy yet and #2 - only has two teefers and couldn't gum the majority of it down even if I did throw every instinct in my body out the window and decide to let him have some (which I absolutely would never) and will be chowing down on the candy he scores for his mother.  I mean MY mother always told me I should clean my plate.  That applies to trick or treat bags right?  Of course it does.  I can't wait to show you pictures of our little monster tomorrow.  Until then, TRICK OR TREAT!!!

First (Play) Date.

I'm not sure if I've told y'all, but Caleb is betrothed (actually to about 4 little girls but let's not talk about that right now). That's right, he's got an arranged marriage in his future. And? Something wrong with that? You won't think so when you see her ...

I mean, I think I made a pretty darling choice, wouldn't y'all agree?

Yesterday I babysat that little muffin (her momma justsohappens to be one of my best friends, NO that has NOTHING to do with me choosing her for my son ...) while her momma went to a lunch meeting for work. Sweet Hailey was a doll, we had lots of fun together. Caleb was getting his beauty sleep when she arrived so she and I played one on one for awhile ...

She has the same love for Sophie as C does. See? They were meant to be.

Poor Koda, I'm pretty sure he's thinking "Are y'all KIDDING ME? You bought ANOTHER one of these things and brought it home?!?"

Then C woke up and their first date began ...

Dinner and a movie. Followed by ...

A little conversation and maybe some snuggling (don't tell her daddy).

Caleb told me he's planning on proposing in about 27 years. I gave him my full blessing.

Weeeeeeeee!!!

Someone went swinging for the first time yesterday ...

We had a bit of trouble figuring out how to sit up at first. But then ...

We got the "swing" of it.

But I'm not sure who had more fun, C or his Unkie Mike (the Mister's brother) ...

He's super silly that Unkie Mike.

Letters to Santa ...

So I was at a craft fair (shocker) and saw this idea and REALLY loved it!

A mailbox for letters to Santa! So, I decided I'd make my own. Hopefully Home Depot has cheap mailboxes and I can hit Hobby Lobby on a day that their Christmas decor is 1/2 off. I know C won't understand it this year but I like the idea of starting this tradition of putting Santa's letter in one night early in December for one of Santa's elves to come get! I thought I'd share it with all of you that have little ones that would benefit from this little project this year!

Friday Confessional.

Photobucket

I confess I don't have much to say today ...

I confess that I lied to the guy at Einstein's Bagels with the way too tight shirt on when he asked me if my hat was Ed Hardy. It wasn't. I just didn't want to explain a craft fair to him. And the fact that I'm just attracted to bling like a fish to shiny objects ...

I confess that when he proceeded to tell me that it was cool and that he had one at home (but they wouldn't let him wear it) that said "Live, love, die." I may have giggled a bit. Right in front of him.

I confess that, while watching Fox News, my son just laughed at the TV when the White House came on. Smart one, this kid.

I confess that last night I would've rather been watching the 13 Nights of Halloween on ABC Family than the Rangers game ...

I confess I was too lazy to go upstairs to the other TV to do so.

I confess a lot of the things I've confessed today I've already posted on facebook in status updates in the last few days ...

I confess that that's a bit pathetic.

That's about it from me. I hope everyone has a great weekend, we have some fun things on the books if the weather permits. Fingers crossed!

Pupdates.

I'll be the first to admit. My sweet Koda doesn't get the attention he used to get. And I hate it. But today? While C is napping, so is Koda.

And snoring. On the bed. Sweet snugglepup.

It's time for me to wash the sheets anyway.

A Little Sneak Peek ...

Since the invitations are a week late getting in the mail have officially gotten to everyone at this point I thought I'd show y'all a little sneak peek of the festivities that are in our future ...

Yep.  That's the amazing talent of my Silly who DESIGNED C's 1st birfday invites.  I told her color scheme, the "C is for" theme and made up the saying.  That's all.  She created the rest.  I'm SO blessed to have this girl in my life, not just because she's an amazing sister in law but because she totally HOOKS me up when it comes to invites, Christmas cards and all around helping me in the creative department.  There are a lot more contributions she's putting into the party, and you'll see those in the pictures, I just wanted to give you a little taste of what's been up my (our) sleeve!  And a sidenote, if YOU need any invites or Christmas cards (she does ours every year and is INCREDIBLE) check out her website that I put on the link above and send her an email.  Not only is she super talented but the BEST part is she will customize your invite to say and look HOWEVER you want!  And tell her I sent you!!!

It's the MOST Wonderful ...

threemonths of the year!  I know that song really applies to Christmas, however I really think it applies to the months of October - December.  Can we just talk about how much I LOVE this time of year?  Fall officially starts even though it's still hot enough for me to sweat through my boots outside and with that brings CRAFT FAIRS (or holiday bazaars, depending on what you call it) and lots and lots of shopping for darling things like accessories, home decor and, my FAVORITE, holiday decorations!!!  I, however, have a small problem.  I have a problem with committment.  Not in the general sense, but in the shopping sense.  The problem starts with the fact that there's SO many cute things that I want to buy them all BUT I'm on the stay at home mommy budget so I have to be really smart about what I choose to buy.  Therein starts the "Okay, I'm going to look around and make sure I don't like anything better and then come back and get (fill in the adorable item I'm crushing on) ..."  Generally this leads to me leaving completely empty-handed.

Me and one of my favorite girls, Carissa, went to a really good show yesterday and just such a thing happened.  I DID, however, manage to make it out with this little jewel ...

This cute feather headband!  In all honesty, I bought the thing because I had just drank a hot Starbucks, then walked in the notso fall weather from our parking spot a jillion miles away into the (what sure as heck felt like) heated building on a 90 degree day.  Did I mention I was wearing boots?  I refuse to dress like it's summer in the fall, Texas.  I REFUSE!  Needless to say I was sweating and my hair was starting to do that super sexy, stick-to-my-forehead thing.

Not okay.

Enter $10, TEAL, feathery headband.  Done.

That was really my reasoning for buying it.  And then I proceeded to get complimented on it by no less than 10 people.  It may have even been 15.  It got to the point that my friend and I would laugh when someone would say they liked it.  I'm pretty sure I sold every single headband she had left in her booth.  AND, the best part (next to the fact that it was $10)?  The owner of the booth is a friend of mine and my mom.  So I was happy to hook her up!  And let's be clear this has EVERYTHING to do with how stinking cute this headband is and nothing to do with my wearing it.  Need I mention the sweating again?  Richard Simmons could've walked around in it and sold it to several passers-by.

After lots of shopping and taste testing of delicious food, I came home and took this little refusing-to-nap guy for a walk.  And wouldn't you know it ...

Walk = narcoleptic baby.

I hope everyone had fantastic weekends!  Here's to the start of the MOST wonderful 3 months of the year!!!

My Silly's Blog.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before, and it's on my blog roll, but have any of you ever checked out my Silly's (sister in love) blog? If you're at all interested in home decor/DIY then I guarantee you will LOVE this blog. I mean, who else can do something like this ...

Is that incredible or what? And yes those are pennies! That's just the beginning, there are SO many darling ways she (and her handy dandy daddy) have transformed her and my brother's darling house. So check it out if you want to be inspired!

We've Been on Vacay.

Not anywhere too exotic. Actually not exotic at all, Athens, TX to be exact. I think I've mentioned it before but my family (as in parents and grandparents) have a house out there. There's been a lot of eating, relaxing and time as a family. Oh and in between all of that the Mister's been hunting.

Day 1, all camo'ed out and ready for a week of hunting (well for the Mister, C and I were just being supportive).

Me and C at home being hunting widows.

Taking a walk, waiting for daddy to get back from the blind.

Me and the Mister after the little guy went down for the night.

The pumpkin we carved :-)

Wednesday was a rainy morning so I decided to make a breakfast casserole. It turned out delish!

Enjoying some father/daughter time with this guy!

C enjoying Sesame Street, his favorite.

Experiencing grass for the first time, "Not too sure about this mom?!?"

Me and my pumpkin with the Coon Creek pumpkin!

We sure enjoyed our week having daddy all to ourselves! We still have some fall things planned for the rest of the weekend. I hope everyone's enjoying this weather as well!

Weekend in iPhone Pics ...

We've had a fantastic weekend. Friday night one of my girlfriends from college was in town (she's from Laguna Beach, CA and no, she's nothing like Kristin Cavallari. Thank goodness) and the Mister watched the mini-Mister while I went out with my girls.

Me and my BFF/MOH.

So. much. fun.

Saturday we woke up bright and early, (i.e. the same time we wake up every morning. We have a kid you know.) dropped C off at his mamaw's (my mom's) for the day/night and headed to Waco to go to the Baylor game and meet up with a bunch of the Mister's fraternity brothers and their wives for a little reunion of sorts. And my brother justsohappens to be the Mister's actual fraternity brother so I got to play with my Silly too!

Ninfaritas at Ninfa's? Um, yes please.

Old man FIJIs tailgating. Not really. But kind of. I swear everyone at Baylor officially looks 12 now.

Sic 'em bears!!!

Like I said. A great time was had by all. But boy did I miss my little guy! Now I'm relaxing on a rainy Sunday evening snuggling with my boys. Can't beat it!

I hope all your weekends were equally as fabulous!
