Thoughtless Thursdays are B to tha A to tha CK!

Aren't y'all EXCITED!?!? I know you've been thinking "Oh when, oh WHEN is Katie going to bring back Thoughtless Thursdays!??! I just don't know what I'll DO with myself until Thoughtless Thursdays come back, MY LIFE WILL NOT BE COMPLETE WITHOUT THOUGHTLESS THURSDAYS!!!" You know it, I know it. There's no denying it. You've been hopeless without it.

Riiiiiight.

BUT, it is fun and does give you an excuse of something to post on Thursdays without thinking and the opportunity to visit some of your fellow bloggers and see how thoughtless they are! Wait a minute ...

SO, for those of you Thoughtless Thursday virgins, I explained how to play yesterday but will do it again briefly. Basically you post whatever you want. No matter how random. It started out just being pictures butcha know, it can't be random if I'm telling you what to post. So anything goes. I, for one, stick to pictures because I'm a picture-a-holic. I have so many that I could probably show y'all a picture a day for the rest of all our lives. Plus all of the cats in the world's lives. Get it? Cause cats have nine ... nevermind.

So what picture did I choose?

Now I'm sure you're thinking "What", scratch that, "WHO the smack is that clown holding the cookie?" Yours truely. Yep. I was a child model. And when I use the word MODEL I use it in the loosest sense of the word. Let's talk about my "model career". This is actually the one I'm "known best for" and again, loose loosey GOOSE sense of the phrase "known best for". By "known best for" I mean my dentist ripped it out of whatever 1985 Good Housekeeping issue he found it in and framed it in his office. He wanted credit for those teeth. Most of which fell out and were held hostage by the Tooth Fairy shortly after this add. Other members of my fan club? My grandma. Who I'm pretty sure has 45 copies of this somewhere in her house. As does my mom, dad, other grandma, etc and so on. However this is the cutest of my collection. I continued to model as I got a little older, much to puberty's dismay, and landed a continuing role in JC Penney's "Big Kids Catalog". I was even on the cover! Now before you go getting all impressed let's talk about what "Big Kids" means. I, being the naive 13 year old that I was, thought it meant grown-up, cool, more mature kids, however that was not the case. "Big Kids" was the equivalent for "Plus Size" for adults. That's right friends, I modeled for the size 12+ kiddos. I should've noticed when all the rest of them were just as pudgy (pleasantly plump as I like to call it) as I was. But all I was concerned with was

A.) I got out of school for a full day, B.) They had really good snack food and C.) I was a "mature, really cool, grown-up kid".

Not the case. But it was fun and it helped pay for my first car! Big kid or not, I loved my '95 teal Honda Accord!  Don't worry, I promise I will look for this catalog, I searched for it online thinking someone might have put it up for any number of reasons but came up empty handed, so I promise I'll have my mom dig it out and take a few pictures of my personal blackmail handy work.

Now it's YOUR turn! Grab my button ----> post your own randomness and come back here and link up! I can't wait to see what y'all post!!!

  9. haha! I was a child "model" too! lots of JCpenney stuff for me too! My grandma kept a complete cutout listing for me! Its pretty funny. When I was months old and modeled I did lots of sleepers and I had no hair, so some of the descriptions next to the clothes say: boys 6 month sleeper... haha!

  15. Why am I just now finding out about your career as a child model?

Also, one day let's have a long chat about how I walked the runway wearing the half sizes? Do you remember those? 12 1/2, 14 1/2? Yeahhhh...I was pretty much "husky."...
