So. I've been an MIA blogger this weekend. BIG time. BECAUSE we were in San Antonio for my little (or not so anymore, sheesh when'd he get so big?) brother, Will's, Drill Team competition for his school, St. John's Military Academy. Oh, don't worry. They just took home first place. No biggie. BOOYAH other teams, BOO to tha YAH!!! Sorry. Proud big sister. Yes, I'm aware I said "Wordless" - y'all know that just means less than 6 paragraphs. That's my definition of "wordless". So, without further adieu, here are some pics of our San Antonio weekend. We stayed in this AH-MAZING hotel, The Menger. First off, it is RIGHT next door to the Alamo. Second, it was built in 1859, WHICH, bythaway, my most favoritest types of hotels are historical ones. I mean, for real, Teddy Roosevelt gave a speech to his Rough Riders in their bar. Their bar that is still the original bar that good ole' Teddy gave his speech in. The same bar that we had a pre-dinner drink in on Saturday night. Chill bumps. Love it. Oh, and THIRD, apparently it's haunted. FUH-UN! However, I did NOT hear any chains dragging and/or booing or moaning coming from the halls. But still, FUH-UN! So, NOW, without any further further adieu here are the pictures, for your visual enjoyment ...
{Our view from dinner on the River Walk, WHICH we enjoyed with 65 degree temps, bythaway}
{Dad, me, my mister and my Mamo from our viewpoint of the view above. Did I say view enough? Oh and don't worry, our table was on a slope. Me and the mister aren't midgets. At least not diagnosed.}
{My "little" brother waiting, at attention, to go on with his group}
{So. Stinkin'. Handsome.}
{Marching on the far left. Don't worry that after this they start twirling those HEAVY guns around and throwing them in the air. And I can barely walk straight without tripping ...}
{Having a drink in the bar where Teddy Roosevelt gave his speech. Ugh with my crazy hair, definately forgot my difuser ...}
{At dinner at Morton's Steakhouse. Don't worry, I definately almost started crying when they brought out the LIVE lobster to show us. The waiter put him away, but then I couldn't stop thinking about it. Why don't you just go ahead and trot the cow out here and ask me which part of him I'd like for dinner? WHY do places think this is OKAY!?!?}
{In the hotel with Willito before we left. See what I mean? Who's the little sibling in this picture?}
And that's my wrap-up friends! I am sure I will have more stories to tell in detail later. I hope you all had equally lovely weekends as well. Happy Monday everyone!!!
Proud sister! I love it :)

Summer :0)
I Love historical hotels too!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they brought out the lobster! How rude! When I was little and we went to Rhode Island for the summer my cousins and I would kidnap the lobster that we were going to eat for dinner and let them roam around the yard for one last day of freedom.
Sounds like y'all had a good time!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend....minus the live lobster part :(...sads for him.
ReplyDeletethat hotel sounds super cool! i get freaked out whenever i hear something is haunted but i'm okay if the hotel is nice like that.
