My sweet boy had his 2 month doctor's appointment yesterday. I don't think I've ever been so excited about something but at the same time been so sad. My poor boy had to get shots. Which, of course, hurt. BUT they also protect him from an array of horrible illnesses. We were told if C got a fever before his 2 month shots it was an automatic trip to the ER where they would do all kinds of tests that are no fun for an infant to rule out the different diseases that he would be vaccinated against yesterday. Thankfully we made it to our appointment fever-free (not without my acting like a crazed, paranoid momma and not letting him get within 5 feet of a toddler, young child, anyone who had or had had a cold within the last month or a crowd of people). And he got 3 shots, one which was a liquid that was taken orally which I'm pretty sure he would've eaten all day (the nurse said it tasted somewhat like maple syrup) and one in each leg (those ones were NOT as sweet as maple syrup). He did SO GOOD, he screamed for about 5 seconds then calmed down and snuggled into mommy while I held him. He slept a lot yesterday and was a bit fussy so I gave him a teeny bit of infant Tylenol. I'm pretty sure he ended up feeling just fine, judging from this face ...
STATS:
Weight: 11 lbs 11 oz. (75th percentile)
Height: 22.5 in. (75th percentile)
Seriously, whose kid is this? 75th percentile for height? His parents are midgets. Next appointment? 4 months. At the rate this kid's growing he'll be walking by then. Love my growin' boy!
Also, a lot of people have inquired who's responsible for the AMAZING pictures that are posted in my header and sidebar. My friend Summer of Summer Photography took them as part of C's 1 newborn photo shoot. She is INCREDIBLE with kids and really has an eye for all things cute. She also does families, maternity, pretty much anything you can think of so definately give her a shout the next time you're considering professional pictures for you or your family!
He's a cutie!! I hate the shots too, but the alternative never seems good. My little one never does well with them at all. Enjoy this stage, it's a good one! ;-)
