Patience IS a Virtue!

I waited, I waited!!!  And NOW, I have the end result.  The rest of C's edited 6 month photo shoot!  So, without blabbing incessantly about nothing further adieu here you go.  Enjoy!!!

"Mom, why am I hanging in a blanket?  And where are my clothes?  Is this one of those "blackmail opportunities" I heard you talking to dad about?  Okay, I don't like this anymore I'm going to need to talk to the ownwer of this establishment ..."

"Oh wait, that lady has a fluffy stick.  She's funny!  Who cares if I'm hanging naked in a blanket?"

"Okay.  I'm confused.  Mom, why are YOU doing tummy time?  Haven't you mastered head control yet?"

"You're funny fluffy-stick-lady."

"Wait.  Hold on.  Don't I remember hanging naked in a blankie earlier?"

"Oh who cares, I found those FINGER things again!"

"Does it look like I'm sitting on a black sheet-covered-mom who's holding me at the waist?  No?  Cause I totally am."

"Stop. squeezin'. my THIGH mom!"  You know it makes me make this face.  I'm TRYIN' to look tough!"

"I'm thinkin' she's having more fun than me.  We'll see about that when I drool bomb her in her mouth."

"MOM!  Stoppit!  You're taking away my tough points!"

"There's that fluffy stick again!"

"Oh wait ... the blanket."

"NOW I remember again!  I DON'T WANNA TAKE ANYMORE PICTURES!  I'm mad.  Can't you tell?  Grrrrrrr."

"Oh no.  The fluffy stick.  I can't. resist. it's happy power."

"Say whaaa?  It's just a feather duster!?!  Well I never.  Wait, what's a feather duster?"

"Ah well it's still funny, I LOVE IT!"

6 Month Photo Shoot.

Seriously.  I have no patience.  None.  These (albeit adorable on their own) aren't even the edited, finished product but I can't wait FOUR days to post them.  So I'm going to compromise and just post a few and will probably end up posted the exact same ones again once I get the edited version.

So here you go, my impatience worked out in picture form.

 

These were taken two days ago.  He was such a good boy and SUCH a good model.  Man I love that muffin man.  I'll post the rest, the edited version (if I can WAIT, geez), in a few days!!!

Remember how I said in my family we have birfday weeks?  Yeah, I tweren't kidding.  Last Friday night I celebrated my 30th with some of my closest girlfriends.  We met for some Tex-Mex, margaritas and some all around silly girl time.  ANNNNDDDD my sweet friend Kat was supposed to come (ON her due date might I add, I thought she was SUCH a trooper for responding yes!) however when we called to see if she was on her way her hubs answered the phone and said she wouldn't be attending because she was in LABOR with baby Jack!  We collectively decided that she was excused.  So on a sidenote, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET JACKSON!  C can't WAIT to meet his new buddy!!!

Third Time's a Charm!

Last night I had my third birfday celebration with the girls (and my brother, he gets to come when the birfday girl is his sister or his wife) on my momma's side of the family.  We went to Naan, which for all you non-Dallas-ites (and non-Plano-ites, I know for you Dallas folk that anything north of 635 requires packing an overnight bag) is a DELICIOUS sushi place, and had a FANTASTIC dinner.  Best part?  Half price drinks and rolls until 7pm.  So we got there at 6:45 and placed a giant order of course!  I had a great time.  

And a BIG thanks to the Mister for staying home and watching C diddles and being SUPER strong on our first night of Mission CIO (cry it out).  I haven't updated y'all on here but we've been having the HARDEST time breaking C of the swaddle.  Truth be told we should of broken it a LONG time ago and that's why it's so tough but that's neither here nor there.  Needless to say the next one will be broken of it by 3 months.  Sheez.  He did great, cried a lot at first (while I was gone, phew) and was out by the time I got home (8:30) and then started it again around midnight and gave it up by 1am (hardest thing EVER to sit and listen to your baby scream and only be able to give him his paci and comfort him for a few minutes).  Then we both woke up SHOCKED at 7am this morning.  I'm so proud of the little guy.  And also glad he still loves me.  I hope it's even easier tonight, wish us luck!

It's (Was) My Birfday ...

... and I'll have the best day ever if I want to.  Yep.  That's right.  Next to my wedding day and the day my son was born, yesterday was one of my favorite days that I can remember in a long time.  Hands down.  And I have my momma to thank.  Man do I ever have the greatest example of how to do this thing called "motherhood" that ever lived.  Seriously.  I am so blessed to be called her daughter.  And I can only pray I measure up to be half the mother to C that she has been to me.  So I told y'all that my day was starting at Starbucks.  During our coffee my mom hands me this card.  The first of many ...

Which was personal so I didn't take a picture of the inside, but the gist of it said we were going to start the day with some of my favorite things which included teal (the flops) and candy corns (my fav candy) ...

We quickly headed to Neiman's, did some fun shopping and had some lunch that included another one of my favs, a bloody mary.

And then I headed off to my hour long massage at Red Door.  Which was EXACTLY what the mommy doctor ordered.  Completely amazing.  And a HUGE thank you to my MIL for keeping C pretty much all day long.  He had a blast Memaw!  He told me so.

I ended the day with another of my favorite things.  A date with the Mister during which my momma (seriously, mom of the decade) watched the mini-Mister.  Best. 30th birfday. ever.  EVER.  And thank you to you ALL for the birfday wishes!  Made my DAY!

I love you mommy, thanks for showing me how it's done.  Now, on to the next celebration - Thursday night with my silly, cousins, aunt, Mamaw and mom (she gets to come to them all, she DID birth me n' all)!  Post to follow of COURSE.

They Say It's Your Birfday ...

Da na na na na.  Yes sirREE I'm entering my dirty thirties today!  However I've decided we're just going to go with 29 and holding, mmmmkay?  So what's on the agenda?  Well my mom informed me awhile back that I needed to get a sitter for the day (which I did, little man will be WELL taken care of by his Memaw) and that we would be starting the day off with a little ...

Let the Birfday Shenanagins Beginagins ...

First off, let me apologize for being so MIA last week.  Truthfully I was just in a plain ole' boring state of mind last week, so I figured I might as well not bore you with my plain ole' boring state of blog posts.  You can thank me later.  Another reason I checked out of blog world last week was because I was getting myself mentally and packingally (it's a word now, take my word for it) ready for last weekend because we were taking our first "trip" (not sure if 2 days is worthy of the word trip, but we'll go with it) away from our little man and I started missing him, well, last Monday.  I will say though, my friends did a good job of distracting me and we had ourselves a GREAT time!  C had himself a great time as well, I got constant adorable picture texts (that ALMOST made me drive home in the middle of the weekend) as proof.  SO, where did we go you ask?  Well my first birfday celebration started out at Coon Creek with two of our favorite couple friends, the Milams and Cotas.  Man did we have fun.  Instead of giving you a play by play, I'll let the pictures do the talkin' ...

 

And I would caption them all but I have a little man that's refusing to nap and fussing up a storm upstairs.  So I'll let you guess what's going on.  I'll just say a lot of fun was had and leave it at that.  There are a few more shenanagins planned for this week that I'll update you on as they come but for now I hope eveyone had as fun of a weekend as we did!!!
