About this time last year, Matt and I were here ...
And MAN do I miss it! My mister surprised me with THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT I've EVER gotten! A trip to New York AT Christmas time!!! If you know me, you know I LOVE Christmas and all things Christmas. What better place to take a Christmas fanatic thank THE most Christmasy place this time of year! Here are a few little highlights from that trip, mainly because I'm missing it ...
Side Note: Funny story about this Grinch. First off, HELLO scariest Grinch in the world! I am pretty sure he's about to, or already does, eat little children. Yikes. Anyways, he was with another girl who had a camera and was taking pictures. I grabbed Matt and said "Let's get the Grinch to take a picture of us with him! That girl that's with him will take it for us!" Matt looked at me with a BIT of irritation and, under his breath, said "Kate, it's not free." and I, of course, INSISTED it was! My mister was not happy ... but we took the picture, and then "Creepy Grinch" proceeds to hang around ... for his tip. Dangit. I hate when I'm wrong and get SO excited about the fact that I think I'm not. Note to self, when involving money, always listen to the hubs. And in most other situations too ...
Is this just so cute? I think his hiney's way cuter than the concrete ones ... :0)
Side Note #2: That is my great grandmother's coat. It is from Neimans from like 50 + years ago. It is covered in tiny pearls and cubic zirconias. Can you see me sparkling? I heart it. OH how I heart it.
Side Note #3: Yes I had REALLY short bangs and REALLY short and BLONDE hair. I like to make complete changes several times a year. It keeps people on their toes. And I get bored easily. Remember, I'm impatient?
Side Note #4: I was not originally wearing running pants and tennis shoes. We made a little trip to the Nike Store and picked up these lovely items after I didn't listen to my mister and wore "cute shoes" instead of "walker friendly" ones ... same thing with the hat, that is the warm version bought at the North Face Store, the shedding, thin, trendy version is in my purse ...
Oh New York, how I miss you. Especially this time of the year. Last year was so special, I will remember it forever. Maybe again someday I will be "startin' to spread the news, and leavin' today" and coming back to see you. I hope it's sooner than later.
Thank you for this post!!!
