Weekend (LATE) Wrap Up!

HELLO my long lost friends!  I know some of you are thinking "Dude, it hasn't been THAT long since she blogged ..." but to me (a usual everyday blogger) it feels like FOREVER.  Thanks to all of you for hangin' in there with me.  I will tell you that at least I've been productive during my short blogging vacay.  I think the nesting has begun.  It's about time too since little boy's room hasn't even been started isn't so much done yet, but believe you me, it's ALL there in my head.  However, I'm NOT sure that excuse will work with a newborn that's wondering where he's going to sleep.  We have made some progress in the planning phases though!  The Mister is going to paint C's room this week!  He has some time off between his old job and the new job he starts on Monday (HOORAY!) and one of his items on his to-do list is to paint!  Now let's talk about what a big deal this is.  For me especially.  Not just because we're painting our first child's room, but because we're painting.  AT ALL.  Until now (and we've lived in our current house for over 4 years) we've never painted a room in our house.  Ever.  Every wall you see in the Fulmer household is tan.  A nice tan mind you, but tan.  Why is this?  NOT because Katie doesn't like to paint.  I'd have every room in this house painted and the bathrooms faux finished or possibly even, GASP dare I say, WALLPAPERED (because I've actually seen some that I've LOVED recently and I hear it's making a comeback ...) if I had my way however the Mister?  Not so much.  You know how some people have an unhealthy fear of water?  Well the Mister has an unhealthy fear of painting walls different colors from their original state.  I'm afraid he might even scream in fear when we open the first can of paint.  I'm not kidding.  Ask anyone close to me (mom, Silly, MOH) and ask them if I've been begging bugging the man (sweet as he is) to paint even just the BATHROOMS since we've been in our house and they will tell you I have.  So I'm quite excited about the first painted room in our house.  I'm hoping it leads to more.  What colors are we painting?  Well I'm glad you asked ...

That's right.  We're doing an ACCENT wall!  The Mister went from no painting ANYTHING to being okay with an accent wall!  That's one small step for the Mister, one GIANT step for the Fulmer household.  Ahem, anyway the accent wall will be the green color, the rest of the room will be the blue closest to the green.  We'll put the crib on the accent wall since there are some green furniture pieces that will be incorporated into the room.  I can't WAIT to see how it turns out!

Now, back to what the title of this post pertains to.  The weekend!  Since I am continuing to swell like Violet Beauregarde from Willy Wonka (I DO like gum) ...

And feeling this way makes it hard for one to get around let alone get around without sweating since it's almost fall and still 95 degrees everyday we are tending to make our weekends more low key.  Pretty much like last weekend.  Even though this weekend did include two birthday lunches (thankfully on different days) for two of my favorite family members (which I didn't take  but one picture of, I don't know what's WRONG with me these days friends!?!?!) it was still, like I said, low key.  Friday night involved some of these ...

{My all time favorite candy.  Candy Corn.  Especially when the Candy Corn pumpkins come out.  Mmmmmmmmmm}

And some watching of Inglorious Bastards.  Word to the wise.  If you like keeping your dinner (lunch, anything you've put in your stomach within the last 24 hours) down DON'T watch this movie.  And I'm pretty much convinced any of Quentin Tarrantino's other movies.  The man is sick.  Sick I tell you.  And on that note I'm going to stop because I'm feeling like I might throw up in my mouth a bit ...

Saturday involved the birfday lunch for my Mamo (dad's mom) along with the one picture I DID take of her all dolled up in her birfday gifts ...

And yes.  Her birfday's on September 11th.  Doesn't that just stink?  But we made the most of it and made her feel special on her special day.  Saturday night started with the Mister and I watching more football than I'd ever like to admit and had pizza and some more of these ...

{And I wonder why I feel like Violet Beauregarde ... ?}

...and ended with me going to bed from a sugar high crash at about 9:45 pm.  Sunday we went to church to serve communion and then I went to celebrate my aunt Belinda's birfday at my mom's house with a pool party with all the girls.  We had a blast.  And oh how I wish I could show you.  But I left the camera at home along with my brain.  And to top it off we ended the day with watching the Cowboys ALMOST pull off a win if it weren't for some awesome holding penalties.  I know it wasn't ALL his fault (and that's only because my Mister told me that, don't be impressed) but nice job Barron.  I'm thinking maybe it was my fault because I didn't wear my new "I Love My Boys" Cowboys tank top to cheer on the Cowboys on Sunday night.  I'm not going to lie, I got the tank because it says "I Love My Boys" and due to the fact that I'm carrying a boy, my dog's a boy, my fish's a boy and, obviously, the Mister's a boy but it does show love for the Cowboys.  I'll take a picture of it when I actually remember to wear it.  It's pretty cute.  Even if it for REAL makes me look like Violet Beauregarde.

And that's it from me loverlies.  Thanks again for hangin' in whilst I've been M to tha I to tha A.  I promise I'm striving to do better.  And I'm pretty sure there's more that I've failed to tell you, but good news is I have FOUR more days of blogging this week to remember!  For now, nighty night loverlies!!!  I will leave you with a darling picture of Koda bear that my Brother in law took last time Koda was being babysat by his Memaw, Pepaw and Uncle Mike.

{Idn't he just so handsome?  I can barely stand it ...}

    On the nursery...I think once the paint is done it's going to snowball and you'll have a perfectly done nursery in no time! Can't wait to see! And lastly...on the candy corn...mix candy corn and peanuts...you won't be sorry!

  6. Mister is totally the same as my bf. I've ONLY gotten him to paint the bathrooms and he's still mad about painting them! So rock that accent wall onward and hopefully he enjoys it!
